TaKaRa Taq

TaKaRa Taq DNA Polymerase is a hot start PCR enzyme that contains a mixture of Taq polymerase and monoclonal antibody to Taq polymerase; this monoclonal antibody binds the Taq polymerase until reaction temperature is elevated to DNA denaturation level (~94°C). At that point, the antibody is denatured and releases TaKaRa Taq, allowing DNA synthesis to proceed. The use of a hot start PCR enzyme such as TaKaRa Taq prevents nonspecific amplification due to mispriming and/or formation of primer dimers during PCR assembly.

Premix Taq DNA Polymerase, Hot Start Version is an optimized mixture composed of 2X TaKaRa Taq and optimized reaction buffer containing dNTPs.

*Protocol recommends the use of 1.25 U per 50 µL reaction.
**Contains 2X dNTP Mixture (0.4 mM ea.) and 2X PCR buffer (20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.3), 100 mM KCI and 3 mM MgCl2)

Storage

–20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw. Aliquot into separate tubes and store at –20°C.
