Random Primers

This primer is composed of a 6 mer or 9 mer of deoxyribonucleotide mixture which has a random sequence (possible 46 or 49 sequences), and a phosphorylated 5'-end.pd(N)6 80 nmol corresponds to approx. 150 µg, 5 OD. pd(N)9 50 nmol corresponds to approx. 150 µg, 5 OD.

Applications

  • cDNA synthesis can be performed in a single tube
  • Labeled probes can be used in hybridization. (generally 120 pmol (random) primer is used per µg DNA)
  • Can be used as a primer during synthesis of 1st strand in RT-PCR

Note: By disolving pd(N)9 in 1 mL of RNase Free dH2O (final conc. 50 µM), it can be used in Takara's RT-PCR Kits.
