Tris-Acetate-EDTA (TAE) Buffer Powder

Tris-Acetate-EDTA (TAE) buffer is used for agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of nucleic acid. With this product, 1 L of 50X TAE buffer (pH8.3) can be easily prepared by dissolving the powder in water.

Components

Tris-Acetate-EDTA Buffer (TAE) 50x Powder, pH8.3

1 pouch (for 1 L)

Final solution (1 L of 50X TAE, pH8.3)
2.0 M Tris-acetate
0.050 M EDTA
RNase/DNase activity: Non-detectable

Storage

Store powder at room temperature.

Preparation

Transfer the contents of the pouch to a flask or beaker. Add 300 mL of distilled water or deionized water and stir the solution for a few minutes. Adjust the volume to 1000 mL, and stir until completely dissolved.
