Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) Powder

Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) is an anionic detergent that is used for the solubilization and denaturation of proteins. This product is a powder for preparing SDS solution; each individual powder-containing pouch yields 1 L of SDS solution (10% or 20%).

Storage

Store powder at room temperature.

Preparation

Empty the contents of one pouch in a flask or beaker. Add 300 mL of distilled water or deionized water and stir the solution briefly. Adjust the volume to 1000 mL, and stir until completely dissolved.
