pBApo-EF1alpha is a simple mammalian expression vector as well as an shRNA expression vector for mammalian cells. This vector carries a human polypeptide chain elongation factor (EF1 alpha) promoter and a polyA signal site from the herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase gene. The pBApo-EF1a vectors may be used during for the construction of expression plasmids by inserting the target gene ORF into the vector's multiple cloning site. These vectors can also be used to express micro RNA precursors and other transcripts in addition to ordinary genes. Furthermore, a [promoter + ORF + polyA signal] cassette can easily be cut out of the pBApo-EF1 vector and transferred to an adenovirus vector. Adenovirus vectors, which have a high infection efficiency and wide target cell spectrum, are suitable for in vitro and in vivo gene transductions. For construction of recombinant adenoviruses, the Adenovirus Dual Expression Kit (Cat. #6170) is recommended.
The pBApo-EF1alpha Neo DNA and pBApo-EF1alpha Pur DNA vectors include either a neomycin or puromycin resistance gene, respectively, for stable product expression in mammalian cells.
