Aureobasidin A

Aureobasidin A is a cyclic depsipeptide antibiotic with a molecular weight of approximately 1,100 Da. It is isolated from Aureobasidium pullulans R106. Aureobasidin A is toxic to fungi and yeast at low concentrations (0.1–0.5 µg/µL), including Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Candida albicans.

  • Antibiotic Selection of Yeast Transformants

Form

The antibiotic is supplied lyophilized, and should be reconstituted in ethanol or methanol at a stock concentration of 0.5-5.0 mg/mL. It is almost insoluble in water. Stock solutions should be stored at 4°C.
