The process of apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is essential for normal cellular differentiation and tissue homeostasis. One characteristic of cells undergoing apoptosis is the production of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). This antibody can react specifically with ssDNA. Compared to the TUNEL assay, immunohistochemical detection using this antibody provides an easier and more convenient method for detecting apoptotic cells.
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes ssDNA. The antibody was raised in rabbit and can be used for immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of apoptotic cells.
