Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is a member of the angiopoietin-like protein family that is expressed primarily in the liver. Like angiopoietins, ANGPTL3 has a signal peptide, N-terminal coiled-coil domain, and a C-terminal fibrinogen (FBN)-like domain. The FBN domain in ANGPTL3 interacts with alpha-5 and beta-3 integrins, leading to induction of endothelial cell adhesion and migration. ANGPTL3 may play a role in angiogenesis. In humans, it is positively correlated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels. ANGPTL3 is also known as angiopoietin-like 3, angiopoietin-5 (ANGPT5), ANG-5, and FHBL2.
This kit is a solid-phase sandwich ELISA using two antibodies that are highly specific to mouse ANGPTL3 protein; one is precoated on the ELISA plate and the other is HRP-conjugated. This assay kit can be used to measure soluble mouse ANGPTL3 protein in serum, EDTA plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
