Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF or GCSF) is a glycoprotein, growth factor, and cytokine produced by a number of different tissues. It is also known as CSF-3, filgrastim, lenograstim, and pluripoietin. G-CSF stimulates the production of granulocytes and stem cells in bone marrow, and their subsequent release into the circulatory system. G-CSF also regulates the differentiation and propagation of neutrophil precursors using a variety of pathways mediated by kinases such as JAK, STAT, MAPK, PI3K and protein kinase B.
This kit is a solid-phase sandwich ELISA using two antibodies that are highly specific to human G-CSF protein; one is precoated on the ELISA plate and the other is HRP-conjugated. This assay kit can be used to measure soluble human G-CSF protein in cell culture supernatants.
