Alpha 1, 2-L Fucosidase

This enzyme specifically cleaves the alpha1,2 fucoside bond, liberating L-fucose from 22-alpha-L-fucosyl lactose (Fuc alpha1-2 Gal beta1-4 Glc) and from oligosaccharides from porcine gastric mucin. It also liberates L-fucose from N-acetyllactosamine-type bi-antennary sugar chain with alpha1,6 fucoside bonds, but the rate of this reaction is extremely slow.

At-A-Glance

Applications

  • Specifically cleaves the alpha1,2 fucoside bond; liberates L-fucose from 22-alpha-L-fucosyl lactose (Fuc alpha1-2 Gal beta1-4 Glc) and from oligosaccharides from porcine gastric mucin
  • This enzyme also slowly liberates L-fucose from N-acetyllactosamine-type bi-antennary sugar chain with alpha1,6 fucoside bonds, but the rate of this reaction is extremely slow

Source

Corynebacterium sp.

Storage

Lower than 4°C under dry condition. A stock solution of 20 U/mL is stable for at least 3 months at 4°C. The stock solution may be frozen and thawed several times without loss of activity.
