ApoPrimer Set (Bcl-2 family)

The Bcl-2 gene family encodes proteins involved in inhibiting apoptosis. The ApoPrimer Set (Bcl-2 family) is composed of primers used to amplify cDNA derived from mRNA of 7 members of the Bcl-2 family (mcl-1, bfl-1, bax-alpha, bcl-2, bak, bik, bcl-x), as well as beta-actin (a control). A positive control RNA, including primer sequences of these 7 members of human Bcl-2 family, and the beta-actin primer sequence, is also included. This allows for the use of beta-actin as an internal control for quantification and for comparison between samples. The PCR products generated from the positive control RNA can be distinguished from the target mRNA due to differences in the sizes of the amplified products.
