Access to Clontech Technologies

Technologies to Enhance Every Research Program
- Fluorescent Proteins: A single fluorescent protein is useful for tagging and visualizing one protein, as a transfection control, or as a marker for cell sorting and clone isolation. Two or more Fluorescent Proteins allow multiplexing experiments, colocalization studies, and complex cell population sorting. Our Living Colors® Fluorescent Proteins include a wide array of color variants derived from Aequorea coerulescens jellyfish (AcGFP1) and reef corals (RCFPs). Our Fruit Fluorescent Proteins include mCherry, mRaspberry, mPlum, mBanana, mOrange, and mStrawberry. Additional information about licensing Fluorescent Proteins.
- MSCV Retroviral Vectors: Enable better expression and reduced silencing when transducing hematopoietic and other stem cells. MSCV licenses are available for both research and commercial use.
- TALON® Resin: Clontech’s patented TALON® Resin for purification of polyhistidine-tagged proteins, as well as our proprietary histidine tags, are available for licensing. While internal research use does not require a license, licenses are available for the commercial manufacture of purified proteins and for resale of products containing TALON Resin.
Multiple License Types
- Research Use Licenses: Non-exclusive research use licenses are available for uses including basic research, production of transgenic organisms, and HTS or HCS screen development.
- Commercial Use Licenses: Depending on the specific field of interest, both exclusive and non-exclusive commercial licenses are available for uses including diagnostics, third-party contract services, QC and QA, manufacturing, and transgenics.
Not-For-Profit Entities
Internal research at academic and other not-for-profit entities does not require a license.
