ExpressHyb™ Hybridization Solution
ExpressHyb™ Hybridization Solution reduces hybridization times while increasing sensitivity (1). Other hybridization solutions typically require overnight incubations and often result in high background. Our hybridization solution can be used effectively with either radioactively or nonradioactively labeled DNA or oligonucleotide probes, or riboprobes. With ExpressHyb Solution, you can obtain comparable results using isotopic or nonradioactive detection methods (see Figures 1 and 2).
ExpressHyb Hybridization Solution is provided as a premade aqueous solution which is less viscous than other commercially available hybridization solutions and can be stored at room temperature. Included with each shipment are complete Northern, Southern, and colony hybridization protocols (PT1190-1) for radioisotopic, colorimetric, and chemiluminescent detection systems.
Samples of ExpressHyb Hybridization Solution are included with MTN® Blots.
Figure 1. ExpressHyb™ Hybridization Solution reduces background for a clean, sensitive hybridization. The Human 12-Lane MTN® Blot (Cat. No. 636818) was hybridized with a radioactively labeled human transferrin receptor cDNA probe in ExpressHyb Solution at 60°C for 1 hr followed by a 15-hr exposure time.
Figure 2. Detection of gene expression levels in human placenta using ExpressHyb™ Hybridization Solution. The Atlas® Human cDNA Expression Array (Cat. No. 634511) was hybridized overnight and exposed to x-ray film for 2 days. The Atlas Human Array contains carefully selected cDNA fragments from 588 key genes for sensitive assessments of differential gene expression.
