One challenge in artificial control of protein-protein interactions is that proteins can dimerize simply because they are in close physical proximity—particularly if they are membrane proteins.

Now you can eliminate these unwanted events: we’ve combined iDimerize and Tet-On 3G technologies in the iDimerize Inducible Homodimer and Heterodimer Systems (with Tet-On 3G) to give you two-tiered control of protein behaviors:

  1. First, use doxycycline to optimize the proteins’ expression to physiologically-relevant levels
  2. Then induce dimerization by adding the dimerizer ligand to your culture medium
