SMARTer Ultra Low Input RNA Kit for Illumina Sequencing-HV: cDNA Synthesis for Transcriptome Analysis
The SMARTer Ultra Low RNA Kit for Illumina® Sequencing-HV provides a robust solution for generating libraries for transcriptome analysis (RNA-seq) directly from very low input of cells or total RNA. The kit is designed to work with as few as 1–1,000 cells or very low amounts of total RNA (10 pg–10 ng). The cDNA output from the kit can be used with either the Nextera® DNA sample preparation kit (using our modified protocol) or with our Low Input Library Prep Kit, to generate libraries that are compatible with Illumina's Genome Analyzer™, HiSeq®, or MiSeq® instruments.
This HV kit uses an oligo dT priming method, relies on using high quality RNA (RIN >8) or intact cells, and accommodates an input volume of 1–9 µl. It has been modified from our original SMARTer Ultra Low RNA Kit for Illumina Sequencing (maximum input volume = 1 µl) to accomodate input volumes of 1–9 µl, which may be helpful when working with either diluted samples or sorted cells in a larger volume. The core SMART technology in this kit (also referred to as SMART-seq) guarantees full length gene coverage that outperforms existing methods in transcriptome analysis. SMART technology provides an immensely powerful tool for studying full gene coverage, splice junctions, and alternative splicing events in cells.
