CherryPicker is a red fluorescent cell surface marker that is expressed when you transduce your cells using the Lenti-X CherryPicker Cell Capture Systems. Upon transduction, the CherryPicker protein is expressed, transported, and anchored to the plasma membrane where it is exposed extracellularly. Selecting positively transduced cells is fast and simple using magnetic beads that bind specifically to the CherryPicker marker.
Selection with CherryPicker (rather than antibiotic selection) means that you do not have to wait for results or expose sensitive cells to harsh treatments. The system has the added benefit that you can also see the positively transduced cells under a fluorescent microscope. Systems are available to select for transgene expression or for promoter activation.
