Adult stem cells, also called somatic stem cells, are undifferentiated cells that have great potential therapeutic value because of their ability to differentiate into multiple cell lineages (i.e. they are multipotent). Two of the most commonly used human adult stem cells in research are mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) and adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs). Xfect Adult Stem Cell Transfection Reagent allows high-efficiency transfection into these cells, which have proven to be difficult-to-transfect with other commonly used transfection reagents (see images and data section).
Xfect Human Adult Stem Cell Transfection Reagent is related to our original Xfect Transfection Reagent, and forms biodegradable nanoparticles when combined with plasmid DNA. Like the original reagent, it also has a low cytotoxicity profile and transfects with excellent efficiency. The modified chemistry and formulation of the Xfect Adult Stem Cell Transfection Reagent allow higher transfection efficiency specifically in human mesenchymal stem cells and human adipose-derived stem cells.
