Yeast media pouches provide minimal media aliquoted in highly convenient pouches. Simply empty the contents of each into your media flask/bottle, add 0.5 L of dH2O, and sterilize. No weighing of individual supplements, combining, or pH adjustment is required.
With or Without Agar
All minimal media pouch mixes are available either with agar or without (broth).
Minimal Media
Synthetic defined (SD) broths and agar minimal media consist of a carbon source (glucose), a nitrogen source, and amino acids. In each particular SD mix, certain amino acids have been “dropped out”. For example, SD/-Leu/-Trp contains all essential amino acids except for leucine and tryptophan.
