Protein G is a cell wall protein from the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus with a high affinity for the Fc region of monoclonal and polyclonal IgG-type antibodies from several different species, e.g., mouse, rat, human, etc. This product uses a recombinant Protein G that was engineered to remove the albumin binding domain, as well as the cell wall and cell membrane binding domains, in order to improve specificity towards the Fc region of antibodies. Capturem kits use a novel high-capacity membrane-based affinity technology that has previously been used to purify highly concentrated his-tagged proteins in just minutes at room temperature, via miniprep columns, maxiprep columns, 96-well plates, and large-volume units.
Capturem Protein G Miniprep Columns
Capturem Protein G Miniprep consists of single-use, disposable spin columns that yield 50–100 µg of purified antibody per column, depending upon the sample type, species, and antibody isotype. These miniprep columns can purify antibodies with a 5-minute protocol at room temperature and are suitable for purification of antibodies from animal sera, ascites fluid, cell culture media, and other sources. Capturem Protein G technology is also available in maxiprep columns and 96-well plates that yield highly concentrated antibodies in minutes and allow rapid, high-throughput antibody screening.
