DsRed2 retains the benefits typical of red fluorescent proteins, such as a high signal-to-noise ratio and distinct spectral properties for use in multicolor labeling experiments. DsRed2 is a variant of Discosoma sp. red fluorescent protein (drFP583; 1) with faster maturation and lower non-specific aggregation. The DsRed2 sequence contains a series of silent base-pair changes corresponding to human codon-usage preferences for high expression in mammalian cells (2).
Anti-DsRed2 Antibody
DsRed2 fluorescent protein can be detected with the DsRed Monoclonal and Polyclonal Antibodies. Both of these antibodies recognize wild-type Discosoma sp. red fluorescent protein (DsRed) and its variants, including DsRed2. Visit the anti-DsRed2 Antibody page.
Recombinant DsRed2 fluorescent protein is also available.
