This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human CAD (carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase 2, aspartate transcarbamylase, and dihydroorotase) protein. The antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide and can be used for Western blot detection or immunoprecipitation of human CAD protein. The antibody is a useful tool for research on mTOR signaling and/or the regulation of nucleic acid biosynthesis.
mTOR is a serine/threonine protein kinase that controls cell growth, proliferation, and survival. CAD was identified as a binding partner with mLST8, a component of the mTOR complex. CAD is involved in de novo pyrimidine synthesis and is regulated by phosphorylation; it is thought that CAD is regulated by the mTOR pathway through association with mLST8.
