Anti-Human MBD3 Mouse IgG MoAb

DNA methylation, a major epigenetic modification of eukaryotic genomes, is essential to mammalian development. A family of nuclear proteins, characterized by the presence of a methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD), has been identified as interacting with methylated DNA. Unlike other family members, methyl-CpG binding domain protein 3 (MBD3) is incapable of binding to DNA. The predicted MBD3 protein sequence shares 71% and 94% identity with human MBD2 (isoform 1) and mouse Mbd3, respectively. MBD3 is part of a multisubunit complex that contains nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylase activities. MBD3 is known to mediate the interaction of metastasis-associated protein 2 (MTA2) with the core histone deacetylase complex.

This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human MBD3 protein. The antibody was raised in mouse using a synthetic peptide, and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection of human MBD3 protein.
