Anti-Human IkappaB-alpha (I037) Rabbit IgG Antibody

The transcription factor NF-kappaB is found in almost all animal cell types and is involved in a variety of regulatory processes. IkappaB-alpha is one member of a class of proteins that inhibit the action of NF-kappaB. IkappaB-alpha masks the nuclear localization signals (NLS) of NF-kappaB protein and keeps it sequestered in an inactive state in the cytoplasm. It also blocks the binding of NF-kappaB to DNA. IkappaB-alpha is also known to interact with REL dimers to inhibit NF-kappaB/REL complexes that are involved in inflammatory responses. Mutations in the NFKBIA gene that encodes IkappaB-alpha are associated with Hodgkin's lymphoma and some types of T-cell immunodeficiency syndromes. IkappaB-alpha is also known as nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor alpha (NFKBIA), NF-kappa-B inhibitor alpha, IKBA, MAD-3, and NFKBI.

This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human IkappaB-alpha. The antibody was raised in rabbit using a synthetic peptide, and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection of human IkappaB-alpha protein.
