Syndecans are a family of plasma membrane proteoglycans, normally found on the cell surface of fibroblasts and epithelial cells. Syndecans interact with fibronectin on the cell surface and with cytoskeletal and signaling proteins inside the cell, and they play important roles in pathways related to cell-matrix adhesion. Syndecan-4 (also known as ryudocan, amphiglycan, SDC4, and SYND4) has a molecular weight of 20 kDa. Syndecan-4 recruits fibroblast growth factor (FGF) to its receptor. The cytoplasmic portion of syndecan-4 interacts with focal adhesion molecules, suggesting a role for syndecan-4 in anticoagulation, cell adhesion, and proliferation.
ELISAs for Syndecan-4 Detection
This kit is a solid-phase sandwich ELISA using two antibodies that are highly specific to human syndecan-4 protein; one is precoated on the ELISA plate and the other is HRP-conjugated. This assay kit can be used to measure soluble human syndecan-4 protein in serum, EDTA plasma, or cell culture supernatants.
Antibodies for Syndecan-4 Detection
This product is an affinity-purified IgG antibody that recognizes human syndecan-4 protein. The antibody was raised in rabbit using recombinant syndecan-4, and can be used for Western blot (WB) detection or immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of human syndecan-4 protein.
